Recorders

Recorder lessons take place every Thursday morning in class 9. Anybody in the juniors is welcome to take part. People usually start on the descant recorder but when they get older they go on to a tenor recorder. Everybody learns lots of different tunes. Mrs Logan teaches recorders.

In assembly time, every Thursday morning, a group of about 25 children learn to play the recorder. The recorder is a musical instrument which can play lots of different notes-so far we have learnt 4. We learn tunes out of a book called 'Recorder for beginners'. There are lots of tunes and it shows us where to put our fingers for the different notes. 'Hot Cross Buns' and 'Joe, Joe' are two of the tunes we've been learning. It's really important to practise the tunes.
We all think we make a wonderful sound except sometimes when the tunes are hard.
